It really is a hair! It is stuck where the coin meets the holder and when you move the coin around you can see it I between the holder and the coin.

Yes you do need to get them to reholder that coin. Second of all it is no doubt annoying to you because here you have a beautiful 1909-S-VDB in MS-64 (Brown) which is a Four Figure KEY DATE coin. I sure it wasn't on purpose but hey they goofed and they need to fix it. Now first of all --- if you ever go to sell this coin online --- you'd have to retouch the pictures to get the hair out of there but you'd still have to mention the darn thing in your description. I don't want to think about that kind of work.

That's really annoying, but I have no doubt that PCGS will try and make it right.
Beautiful coin by the way! That's probably my favorite grade on early wheat cents, brown and all!

Yes it is that coin, just slabbed in December. I will have them re-holder it. But still haven't heard from them, maybe I should call them. Patients is going to have to be the key to this. I'm finally calm from the shock! :)

I guess the "clean room" really isn't clean after all. They will reholder it for you. There is supposed to be a final quality control check.

Not to mention that hair could eventually change the coins color where it is, especially if there is any hair product oils or gels on it. They should do this for free and even pick up shipping IMO.

Don't wait for an email, which can be slow, call them!
Have them take the TruView image of it as well, it's only $10, or upgrade it to Secure Plus, which includes the TruView Image.
BTW, great Lincoln!

Nice coin.
Unfortunate accident.
I would try to get it back to them as soon as possible before any oils from the hair affect the surfaces of the coin.

They will reholder it, probably for free, but you will still be stuck for the postage and insurance both ways. You might want to wait a bit before sending it to them as well because right now they are probably being inundated with monster boxes of ASE's to grade.
