Ok so I happen to go threw some of them old proof sets that are completely sealed and when I looked at the 1985 set I found this ....please note I didnt bother taking pics of the other sides because there normal and shiny ...im not sure if these were Struck Through Grease or not and thats why I'm posting ...its only the nickel and the penny all the rest are perfectly normal ..all help is always appreciated ...thanks in advance ..
And please if you can what would one of these sell for just curious ...thanks again

is this set an experimental package? If so I've seen this before, I think its just a reaction to the packaging. No premium as far as I know. Still cool though.

How do I know if it is a experimental set or not I do have a 2004 test token set but this dont say test , and If it were the packaging why wouldnt it have done it to all the coins

Oya and the packaging is the hard plastic not the bag type

Almost sertain the set you've talked about is the experimental.

thedollarman is correct, it's from the experimental plastic set. This seems to happen to the nickels and pennies. It's easily identified by the hard plastic sleeve, and if I remember correctly the COA is in plastic as well, no loose. I have a couple sets at home, as well as some pennies which have been removed, the scratch like striations will remain on the coin so I do not recommend cutting them out.

It's not a proof set, it's a BU(PL) set in special experimental packaging found only in 1985,the proof set had seven coins in a large black,leatherette case.
Looks like environmental damage as stated by fed_ink85.I haven't looked at mine in many years,hope this problem is not universal.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

The Charlton lists this 'plastic' set at $40 instead of $10 for the regular 'pliofilm' in MS65. Here are some pictures of mine, I'm noticing the obverse remains original but reverses are what seem to be affected.
