Thanks to awildheart for the research. I guessed on a private striking, now confirmed without doing any spadework myself!
I would think Noble's estimate of $160 would be nearer the mark, despite only 135 in total being struck.

Great link awildeheart. I've never heard of one.

Interesting that the ebay one is 10 years later with the old Victoria.

The prices for these (but different obverse image) are much more reasonable at this link:

https://www.coincraft.com/products/...c-crown.aspx

I don't agree with this sort of product as there is nothing on them to say they are recently made 'things'. I don't know if they can even be called 'coins'.

What are the thoughts out there about this sort of product?

They are not "coins", since they were never legal tender. They are "fantasy patterns". I personally don't have a problem with them, but such things do tend to cause confusion amongst new collectors and non-collectors, since they bear a fictitious date. I would prefer they bear the actual date of issue somewhere, like on the edge or (as the Vienna Mint does on its replicas) in tiny lettering somewhere in the field on one side.

Fantasy patterns like this are illegal in Canada, where they are considered "counterfeits".

After looking at a few of these online last night, I've just realised that the give-away clue that they are recent fantasy designs is that they all lack a denomination.

My gut feeling is that this should be considered a "counterfeit pattern". Minting a coin with a 19th century date seems intended to deceive.
