Hello All,
Recently picked this coin up not knowing much about it. I did not pay much, and got it mainly for trying to figure it out.

It appears to be greek, and from what I've gathered, is a Fourree(SP?). Thats about all I've figured out on it, Not too good with the Greek coins as of yet.
What I can make out of the reverse Mintmark is WTI dot C dot F with an E over the F

It appears to have a layer of Silver on a copper core.

I agree Roman Republic, couldn't tell you which though, not enough detail remaining.

Its not anonymous and it is identifiable, but not by us. You have it in hand so will haveto do the leg work yourself. The letters in the ex arent a mintmark, they are initials or a name - they are the person that issued the coin.

To help, this is a Republican Denarius and shows Victory in a Chariot. The rest is up to you to find the issuer (use google and wildwinds!).

Now after going through every pic on Wildwinds for Roman Republics. I think I may have tracked down what this is...
L. Sentius C.f. 101 BC. AR Denarius (3.82 gm). Helmeted head of Roma right / Jupiter in quadriga right; V below. Syd 600.

But mine clearly has an E below, instead of a V, or any of the others listed(B or M.

Were these coins minted crudely, with copper cores?
