60,000 nickels and this is the third one I've found. Nobody is ever interested in these it seems. For me less common then a 1990 bare belly belly I now have found 13 of those. Sorry about the poor pics.

I found one myself with the accumulations everywhere. I should go see if it is a bareback like yours, or maybe the same date. Your right though, they don't seem to get a lot of attention, I also noticed some around 1989 or so with 1/2 or more bare bellies and no mention anywhere. They are very noticeable mistakes though.

It seems 2001 is an odd year with lots of problems, I was wondering the other day if people couldn't keep their minds on their job to good after 9/11 it was just a thought because 2000 and 2002 these problems are rare.

The bare belly is a variety. At least that appears to be a result of die polishing.

With the other markers, this points more to an error.

Errors tend to be less popular than varieties.
