Forgive the silly question, but there are so many awesome coins it hard to figure out what's what! Never mind which ones to collect!

Are the color 1oz polar bear and caribou the first in the series? I see color quarters from previous years.

Thank you

Neither of the coins you mentioned was marketed by the RCM as part of an ongoing series, so it is difficult to say at this time if they will form the first issues of a distinct new series. The RCM is fond of coin series, however, so it is certainly possible.

One of the coins, the polar bear, was commissioned by a large Canadian coin dealer. If they were happy with the profits they made on sales of the coin, they may very well pursue additional coins in the same style.

Lastly, the RCM issues lots of "animal" coins. I guess these could simply be considered part of that large and ever-expanding group!

These are beautiful coins and surprising, the caribou is still available for issue price from the Royal Canadian Mint.

Commems correct

When I started to collect NCLT (3-4 years ago), I just put as a target "animal" fine silver coins. That time there weren't many of such coins - mostly earlier editions.
But 2012-2013 were produced a lot, I think, I would satisfied with 2013 O Canada both sets.
So these two....yes, nice in hand (I saw them in store), but didn't buy them - have enough Polar Bears and Caribou

I have both the polar bear and the caribou coins and they are awesome, some of the nicest coloured coins in my collection.

Thank you for the feedback. I did order both through the mint, as well as a Lake subscription. I didn't mind the tax and shipping charges to the States, I figure the cost is about the same as the current ebay prices.

The 5-oz animal pucks are wicked nice. In my opinion they are better looking than the ATB 5-oz pucks.

Well Rainbow1218 the RCM puck should be much nicer than the ATB's. For more than 3x the price... This year the Arches coin is going to be spectacular IMO.
