Hello again,

I just introduced myself a few minutes ago and am now wondering where to post my question. I have visited a few sites on pennies and if I go to:

http://coins.about.com/library/US-c...y-Values.htm

It looks like anything from 1959 to 2012 can be worth from $0.04 to $0.06 with the occasional oddity of greater worth.

At http://cointrackers.com/coins/13653...coln-penny/,

most pennies I looked at are listed at $0.15 - $0.35. Is this really the case? Do I need more information to make determinations? I literally have thousands of pennies that would bring me at least $0.04. This is just the beginning of my confusion. Not sure what to do with all these pennies!

Help!

Thanks again.

SunWay.

Good idea to have a business plan in hand before starting out on a venture.

Anyway, welcome to the site and good luck.

Here's a site for pricing. One of my go to sites when needing a quick price guide.

http://numismedia.com/

You may also want to check for varieties as well. They could possibly carry larger premiums.

what condition are the coins? if they are circulated, it will be hard to sell over face, unless copper(1981 and before(and some 1982;s)) if they are UNC you can put them into rolls according to year and mint location and ebay them, and generally you can find a buyer for these pretty easy. for the 2010,11,12 the rolls may fetch only face for UNC but for other years, especially UNC copper, you can definately get a premium for them

Hello again,

My pennies are indeed circulated. They are not in bad shape, mainly normal wear. schris252 mentioned that they would be difficult to sell at face value, unless copper (1984 and before and some 1982's. Now, not everything made at these times is copper, are they? If so, that makes it easy, if not....how do you tell?

More questions to coming to your neighborhood soon!

How about this question: What would your procedure be if you had a 5 gal jar filled with thousands of pennies? How would you deal with that? Thanks in advance,

SunWay.
