been collecting just over a year and I'm undecided on the best way to store my coins. right now, I've got a 3 ring binder with pages to hold 2x2 holders. it works pretty well and I like it overall, but the one problem is coins can slip out of the pockets and possibly fall out the top of the folder. I'm trying to find a similar 3 ring album, but that is enclosed so I don't run the risk of coins falling out of it. I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. I like the idea of being able to keep all coins together, instead of specific albums for different coins. does anyone have any recommendations for a folder that is enclosed to store all different coins in 2x2's? Thanks, Todd

While I've never had a problem with 2x2s falling out of the pockets, I have started my newest collection of tokens, medals and other exonumia. I found at Wal-mart in their school supply area, a soft sided trapper/keeper type deal. Cost around $10.00 and comes in different colors. It zips up secure and holds quite a few pages plus has other zip up pockets. Not sure if it's what you're thinking about, but it works for me.

You could add a slipcover to the three ring binder, but they coins will still slip out when out of the case. So may not solve your issue. The zip-up one sounds good, or you could try photo three ring archive boxes, they are enclosed on all sides to prevent dust getting on negative or slide pages, and snap shut.

Here is what I use for my slides and negs:

The black plastic three ring snap binder box, it's made wider than a standard binder to accommodate film pages and works well for the 2"x2" and 1.5"x1.5" pages as well.

Anything for slide storage should work also since they are the same size. Just don't get slide archival pages, they are way too thin to hold coins in 2x2 holders. Printfile don't have the best price on their coin page for the pages, but I've never found the box binders anywhere but at camera shops or their website, you'd think the coin suppliers would be all over them, as they keep out dust, pet hair, moisture (to a point) and light. For long term storage add a couple packs of desiccant if you live where it's humid. Keep your coins dry!
