I've got these coins and I have no idea if they're worth anything or what to do with them?

Left image - 1890 Indian Head penny - Color is black? It looks really black compared to any other penny.

Right image - 1903 Indian Head penny - Color is brown

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything. I know nothing about coins or collecting. Also I'd there a value to these?

Thanks

They aren't worth crazy numbers because they aren't key dates or uncirculated but probably $5 bucks for the pair or so but I'm no expert.

The thing that baffles me is I've seen the colors available and what they're worth but I can't find the black colored one anywhere. Or is there one that I'm not finding.

The pic doesn't do much justice either. The color in person is a lot darker.

Its basically just red and then everything else. If its 95 percent red or more it would get red, 94 percent to 5 percent red is red brown and under 5 percent red is brown. The other color only matters in the sense if its attractive toning or not but red is the only thing they look for when it comes to the color designation.

The one on the right looks like it would be brown, and the one on the left may get a an rb designation.

So does that mean I should be more careful with the r/b coin?

The black one is corroded, worth maybe a dollar. The other one looks to be in ok shape but is a common date. Maybe worth 2 bucks.

If it would be a rb one then yes would you need to be from a color perspective. Would need better pictures though to know if its worth it. Its pretty small on my monitor
