Here's a coin I just purchased. The raw coin is what I just bought and the slabbed coin is an ANACS VF25 that I also own. IMO the raw coin looks as good or just a hair better than the VF25. Opinions please.

If your new raw piece is a true No D Strong Reverse as it looks to be, then it's an easy VF30. That's a nice coin.

That's the sharpest second '2' I've seen - is that common?

Check some Die 2 examples out in the Heritage Archives - you'll see that nice, sharply-defined second 2.

I'd say so! It's refreshing to see someone actually post a genuine, raw example. It's a no brainer for authenticity - definitely a rare thing on these forums.

PS - Good job with the pictures!

Getting a bit excited. Just got one graded by ANACS at VF30, and it is nowhere near as nice as this one.
