I was surfing the web and came upon a site called Alaska Coin Exchange. Is anyone familiar with Alaska Coin Exchange? They deal with U.S. and foregn coins. Have you done business with this site? Would recommend them?

Someone had mentioned them a while back, and I'm sure the post is not accessible anymore. having said that, I really don't remember anything bad about them, and that's usually what I remember if anything. I'll see if I can find it. Maybe one of the moderators can do a search back further than what we have access to if nobody else responds.

Not sure about that one but anytime you find a web site on coins, just do your own research too. Naturally asking in places like this is always helpfull, but many ways to check web sites out. For one thing make a list of web sites that sell coins. Then compare prices for similar grades and never, never buys one sight unseen. As for me, I think buying any coin via the internet is close to playing a slot machine. Much rather go to coin shows.

I know them VERY well. Mike Nourse runs that site and he is an amazing compendium of knowledge. He has a link to his personal numismatic library and it's massive! He's always very honest and sells coins at very reasonable prices. If you're ever not happy with something you just purchased from him, he'll gladly refund your money. And, to top it off, he privately insures what he mails so he only charges $2 (at least that's what the price was the last time I checked) to ship anything out. He's on the top of my list as far as coin dealers go.

I have bought a couple of coins from them in the past. I wouldn't have a problem with getting anything else from them. At the time his prices were in line with everyone else. Didn't really take that long on the shipping. Actually I was surprised that I received it so quickly.
