I have almost completed a basic type set of Nicholas II non-gold coins (1 for each denomination except 5 kopeks which I'm including both copper and silver). I thought I would share some of the seldom seen types.

Here is one of my favorites so far. 1/4 Kopek. There is a great die crack from the rim to the ribbon! This is one of the scarcer coins to come across.

Another tough one is the 5 Kopek copper piece. Here is one I found at a LCS.

I agree the 1/4 kopek is very scarce! I've only seen two of these so far that I could afford; I passed on the first for $30 because it was the type of shop where stuff stayed for months, then found it gone the next week then a few weeks ago saw another one for $50 in a place known for ridiculously high prices - didn't buy that one either, but it at least made me hopeful that eventually I could find and buy one for $30 or lower.

As for the 5 kopek, depends on the grade. Coins as well-preserved as yours can get very expensive, but lower grades are more affordable (down to $3). I have a really low-end example of this type that I bought for just over a dollar at a Ukrainian market, but it's too old to be Nicholas II, unfortunately.

I think the 25 kopek silver is very uncommon for this period. Do you have one, or is this the type you're missing?

I'm missing the 5 silver, 25 and 50. The 25 Kopek is the toughest that I have left to find, I believe it is only a two year type in the late 1890's. The 50 Kopek seems to be pricey as well in the higher grades.

From my experience, Nikolai coins are still relatively easy to find. As soon as you hit Alexander II and Alexander III, you know you have hit a brick wall as the coins become quite challenging, especially the smaller denomination.

Here's two type sets that I tried to compile a while ago:
