These have got a fiddly Hebrew date on them (the four symbols around the deer). http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces16923.html These are very attractive for telephone tokens - nice design. By the way, non-ancient Hebrew text ALWAYS means British Palestine or Israel - learning to recognize the distinctive letters is always an advantage when it comes to attributing coins, tokens, banknotes and stamps. publius Pillar of the Community United States 807 Posts	Posted 01/29/2014 8:53 pm A piece with a slot like that is almost always a telephone token. I was talking with a Turk the other day about Turkish telephone tokens of a similar design (intended to prevent slugging), which were used partly because of the rapid inflation. Apparently the trick they used to use was to "cast" fake tokens out of ice! Report this Post to the Staff
