I look at this coin and it is of my opinion that it is a RPD and S over D RPM? I just thought I'd through it out there. I'm not an expert in the field.

Darn auto correct. Throw. BTW I noticed the D runs in the same angle as the original punched date...if I am correct which I am only a small little fish in this big pond :-) I'm still trying to figure out how to move this to varieties and errors so if an admin stumbles upon this I would greatly appreciate the help in moving the forum. Thank You CC ;-) From what I've read and this is only my opinion wouldn't this be the first RPD for Wheat Cents and second S over D RPM in the series? That is if I am correct of course lol!

I would enjoy helping ... alas you out-of-focus photos in poor lighting unable me to contribute much except for a wish for better photos!

Yes the photos I take are dreadful. I am having a professional help out next week so until then just try squinting your eyes and keep from cursing my name :-) 20/20 vision helps too

You replyed about 3 times. Guess you really knew your photos are poor. Can't really tell from what you posted but a sort of guess is just worn dies for date.
Mint mark appears to have been added by someone that had to much to drink for lunch. Sure wish the photos were better.

Sorry Carl. I wasn't meant for some if not a lot of forms of technology. I am aware of the hub associated "false rpd's" and you may very well be right. I hope not but I'll just have to weigh in the verdict on Wed. Until then, I am not posting any more pics and annoying people with them :-)

It cannot be a repunched date(RPD) because that practice stopped with the end of the 19th century coin series. The date is part of the master die design on all 20th/21st century coin series.

Photo tip for all: When taking images focus on the field around the devices you are taking images of. By focusing on the tops of devices, the image can be blurry. On Denver RPMs I try to focus on the field inside of the mint mark.

Interesting Biokemist. This I did not know unfortunately. I'll post clearer pics if it is Ok with you and then I'll move to a more accepted error. I was always told if you throw enough stuff at the wall something will eventually stick. Some may think it as unfortunate but I have a lot of stuff I'd like to throw if it is ok.
