Hello. I am Canadian and I recently purchased a 1920 Australian large cent in Fine to Very Fine condition. I believe it is the "no dots" variety.

What would be the value of this coin and what do they commonly sell for? I know that some world coins sell for much less than their CV...PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks!!

Penny? Pictures would be great to determine condition, grade and whether it is actually a no dots or one of the others with a filled in or worn away dot or whether it has been tampered with

Hi, I collect 1920 pennies (NOT large cents) and have a "few" of them, so I might be able to help.
Without an image I can only guess if your penny is an actual No Dot. But I know that the majority of coins claimed to be no dots are just worn/filled dots so even an image will often not help.
If the base of the reverse letters are in any way curved and not dead flat then your coin will be a Dot Below CBL (curved based letters) and they are over half of all 1920 pennies.
Fine to Very Fine condition covers a fair range. Not that scarce in F (fine) and 10X more common than VF.
True No Dots are well under 10% of all 1920 pennies.

Thank you for the replies! I am sorry for referring to it as a cent because I know it is a penny...

I was able to find some online price guides to help me with the value.
