Earlier I posted a new thread here that was moved to the NCLT forum by the moderator as it quoted info about the upcoming commemorative coloured $2 coin.

However, as not all CCF members may visit the NCLT area, I think it is relevant to this forum as well as the info on the ComLaw site refers to ALL the coins approved by the Treasury to be produced by both the RAM and the Perth Mint.

This is a VERY interesting reference resource providing design info for proposed coins long before the mints release any details.

RAM info is listed here: http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Browse/Res...lian%20mint)

thankyou, when I visited the R.A.Mint - two years ago - there was a display of designs under consideration for proposed commemoratives, including illustrations and designer's notes. It was at the top of the stairs, on the right, opposite the theaterette [spell-checker & I differ on this].

I was interested, in particular, in a coin commemorating the Bombing of Darwin (where I have made my home) ...
but no such coin ever made it into circulation.
I don't keep track of NCLT, so I don't if such a coin was released in that series.

I think there was a bombing of Darwin 20c released in the last two or three years. NCLT though.
