I've got the picture in my mailbox. As friend of mine said - it is the coin that will be issued on behalf of some African state. 1st coin in series. Mintage limited to 5k. No other info.
Your thoughts?

Yep, it's Benin. I have a couple of coins from there, myself, even if I couldn't place it on an African map. I believe a German mint, or a Polish one, actually creates most of these for third world countries in Africa and the micro-nations of the S. Pacific with some help from the Bank of New Zealand and the Perth Mint. I guess most small countries wouldn't have the infrastructure to mint them themselves but still want to buy a seat at the numismatic coin collecting table and chew on those tasty, tasty profits we idle rich Westerners funnel into their economies. I'm told I'm currently funding the country of Togo, by way of its yearly limited release coin offerings, all by my lonesome

The coin will be introduced on World Money Fair in Berlin next week ... so, let's see how real coin looks. Minted by some German mint.

some of my favorite german dealers have pre-orders now. I want one and will get one, call me a sucker of the HIGHEST kind for elephant coins, that I am. lol
It appears this will be a bullion coin as well. I am getting it regardless, love elephants on coins no matter what.
thank you Bekiz for letting everyone one know about this.

yup, coin is moving very fast. yesterday I've got a link to buy them myself(my friend in Berlin will buy for me too) ... the coins moved out faster than I was able to register at the web site (dealer just removed the coin from site). Looks like dealers got small allocations of the coins or they are held for introduction for Berlin WMF.

Bekiz! I was just going to return and say I locked one up and you posted here. I really like the coin, would been nice if it was proof tho, looks to be just uncirculated bullion... Nonetheless, love the elephant theme and happy to get one, looking forward to this series BTW thanks for mentioning this coin!
