1864 Indian Head Cent - Is It A 1864-L?

supgog Pillar of the Community Israel 2420 Posts	Posted 02/01/2014 12:29 pm Got this one off ebay for 11$. It was sold as 1864 cent, but I think it's an L which you can still kinda see. These are the seller pics (with a little manipulation). I still don't have the coin in hand so I'm not sure. What do you think? How'd you grade it? Thanks for looking . jpbone Pillar of the Community United States 1959 Posts	Posted 02/01/2014 1:39 pm I call it a G-6. I can see hints of an L. Does the sellers original pics depict the same coloration? The color is "off" in this photo. For $11, I'd buy it. $50+ For a possible "L". Ten dollars if not. No risk taken really. Good eye. Report this Post to the Staff
beaglebailey Pillar of the Community United States 716 Posts	Posted 02/01/2014 1:41 pm Sometimes it is hard to tell when the coin is this worn, but I do believe it is an 'L'. I would grade it G-6 even though I don't see any letters in LIBERTY. Report this Post to the Staff
