I saw these coins in an online auction and I was wondering if they were real. Sorry these were the pictures from the auction house.

I'm not sure I understand.
Are these suppose to be 3 coins on the first pic and then their reverses on the second?

Sorry, there are 6 coins, only one side was shown. They were meant to be in the same picture but to resize the image and to keep it at a reasonable size I had to cut the picture in half.

It's impossible to tell from that picture. It could be the bargain of the year, or it could be a total scam. The 1850 Seated dollar is a desirable coin whichever mint it came from. It would be helpful to know the weight of each coin.

I would contact them and ask for pics of the reverse.

My default opinion would be "probably not real," simply because of the size of the images. Not remotely large enough to draw intelligent conclusions, and I'm too risk-averse to throw that kind of money at a chance. Especially when this is the type of auction which will draw the ones who will throw that money; you can assume it'll likely hammer above the true value of the coins.

Is there a money back guarantee? If it's an "all sales are final" auction I would run away. The image quality is sub par to draw a conclusion on authenticity.

The 1850 dollar looks like a definite fake, so I'd keep away this auction, as probably most of them are fakes.

The 1850 Seated dollar worries me. 7500 mintage, $1500-2000 coin. The 5 doesn't look like a real one: http://www.dickosburn.com/1850-libe...ar-xf40.htmlAsk yourself, who would throw a rare coin like this into a mixed lot of bullion-grade coins? Would you trust this seller to authenticate, or to give you a refund when the coins turn out to be underweight Chinese fakes?
