Hidden Treasures - Cameo Quarters....a 66 SMS, 64 Proof..

eSinger Pillar of the Community United States 523 Posts	Posted 02/02/2014 6:02 pm Taking pictures of Cameo coins is very hard but I think I can get accross how good they are.... I was searching some SMS sets for CAM halves and this 66 Quarter just jumped out and bit me.....it is the best one I have from 50 plus SMS sets ...... How wonderful these SMS coins are when you find a good one. I look for Halves but now after reading "Cameo and Brilliant Proof Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era", I have found out just how rare all Cameo coins from the SMS sets are. This one just stood out unlike any other. I have some pennies, nickels, and dimes to go through next! And then I saw this beauty, out of a 64 Proof set. Wow....It is DCAM I am pretty sure.... I just can not get the camera to grab it, but it is an awesome coin. To think I have never even really looked at it before as I was too worried about the halves! I am not sure what they would grade but if I had to guess, the 66 would be a MS-65/66 and the 64 a PF-66/67. Happy Hunting! Report this Post to the Staff
