"PCGS.COM HAS A VALUE OF $1,200.00 FOR AN XF, THIS COIN IS GRADED HIGHER AS AN XF- 40 JUST UNDER AN AU GRADE."

Paratrooper,

If it were PCGS XF45 I would agree. XF numerically covers 40~49, so this is barely an XF. The PCGS price guide quote is for the "highest price" recorded in that grade. I usually cut that number in half when deciding on a price I'm willing to pay. Unless the item is a standout.

I think Paratrooper is unhappy about the seller's statement because it says that the coin trends for 1,200 is XF and the listed coins is higher than XF at XF-40, when, in fact, it's the lowest XF it can be.

As long as PCGS is going to openly list their ridiculously overpriced system then ebay Seller are going to exploit that. Sadly...it works and they aren't doing anything wrong by ebay's standards except taking advantage of ignorance.

Yeah, I was pretty much laughing at his statement. What really strikes me is the fact that he HAS an 09-S VDB and doesn't seem to know XF is a vague generalization that covers all XF grades. His he really that ignorant or is he deliberately misleading?

Also, there's only EF40 and EF45. Unless I'm mistaken?
