thanks for posting

as a jewelry piece, it has no real numismatic value. It would be offered a "grade" that simply reads "genuine".

That's what I thought. It also looks like it has been cleaned.

Also to the community.

Detail looks XF but being ex-jewelry it's really a melt value piece to most. The bezel is likely 10K or 14k gold and worth some money too. Have you tried winding it like a pocket watch yet? :)

Understood. What happens when a coin is placed into jewelry is usually considered damage and not cleaning. That being said, the surfaces of your coin show hairlines, friction and rubbing that are consistent with cleaning or polishing. Those things can and do occur when a piece of jewelry is handled, worn, stored, etc.

Bottom line is you've got a coin worth it's gold content which is about $1215 USD tonight. That bezel probably melts around $100 USD if it's 10k or 14k gold.

It sure looks cleaned. Perhaps the guy you've purchased it from did it.

I'd go VF details cleaned (ex-jewlery piece) is what ANACS would put on the holder but since we see it in a bezel it's obvious. Gold melt value plus the gold value of the bezel and chain.
