It's been a very lone time since I have posted, but I always like to look in as I am busy with other things.......One of the things back I n my day was the term "Copy stand"
when ever I searched online.. all I found was EXPENSIVE CHEAPLY MADE CRAP.........It's simple, coin a term and people are looking for that idea........BUT there is and alternate
AVAILABLE to us today due to the fact that those abundant
HOME BODY 35MM film developers have given up there dark room furniture to the new age of digital..........that we can print our on stuff on our cheap but expensive ink costs HEHEHE NOT really laughing here... The dark room is not in vogue. but there equipment is online at cheap prices.....
you can buy ..an enlarger system for around $50 bucks..plus shipping... I liked the Durst 301 as is is a well mounted straight pole at about 24 inches high, solid mount plenty of room to add all kind of adapteres..

Both myself and austrokiwi have posted on this topic before. We both have modified enlarger stands that we use for copy stands. They are sturdy, and can be retro-fitted in whatever way you please. Austrokiwi really went all out setting his up, so I'd recommend doing a search for that thread.

thanks for posting Aladinslamp. Even though its been discussed before Its well worth reminding people that there are alternatives to the shockingly expensive copy stands in the market. A Photographic enlarger can be purchased for a few dollars and if you get the right sort can produce a copy stand considerably better than the US$600-US$800.00 top range copy stands. as brg5658 pointed out. I posted the steps I took to make a copy stand from an enlarger. Initially I just asked if it could be done, from the answers I received I was able to pick the right sort of enlarger then the rest was relatively easy. Here is the link to that thread:
