Found this one hiding in a dark corner.
Lousy pic I know, but I got the colors right..
Looks exactly like this in hand.

Definitely love the toning on the obverse, although the black spots on the reverse would bother me. Still, a nice looking example!

Nice looking coin ... does not meet my personal aesthetic for surface color ... but pleased that it works for you.

I wish you would have let us guess the grade ... I would have suggested MS65.

Congrats on the purchase. The coin appears to have good underlying luster. What was it that drew you to it?

As with nickelsearcher, my eye tends to gravitate towards more brilliant coins, but I'm glad you've found a coin that works for your eye!

I like the russet toning and and exceptional luster on the OP example,
I've always appreciated the design of these albeit controversial would be an understatement.

The old NGC no-line fatty slab is a plus.

Lest we never forget..

Here's another example I have.

Commems' has written much about these..
I also like the sense of motion depicted in the obv. of this early model:
(the reverse is way too busy IMHO).

@Night-Hawk: Another nice example! Very attractive!

You mentioned my earlier post concerning the original (but rejected) designs for the Stone Mountain Memorial half-dollar; here's a link for those who might be interested:

both of those Stone Mountains are great looking, a major aspect of my collection is collecting different "colors" of the same type coins
