I am going to a coin show this weekend, and I am looking at getting a 2013 West Point ASE set. I was wondering how much I should spend to get a set like this. I would like to know soon as the show is this weekend.

You can get the raw ones on ebay for around 150. The graded 69s are selling for basically the same price.

What about for just the enhanced one? How much of a premium does a slabbed SP-70 have over an SP-69?

They originally went for $139.95 + shipping. Coin shows are made up of smaller dealers, there is going to be no dealer there who is going to take a loss or a marginal profit after less than a year. ebay prices have very little to with professional and local coin dealers, so don't go there comparing prices to $bay, you will be very disappointed. I would be prepared to pay no less than $160, maybe even %170-$180. Although I would not pay $180. The advantage you are going to have, is that you can examine it in hand examine the coins and capsules for mars and scratches. Plus instant gratification. I paid $170 for my set last fall at a local show and was happy to do it. I looked at a couple of sets, and bought this one. No $bay, no dealing with $ay$al, no wondering if I am going to get ripped off/what I am going to get. The coins I bought " I think ' have a good chance at MS70.

He's right, 170 to 180 is what they are asking. I'd look for someone in peril and offer 150. Can't hurt.

Quote: What about for just the enhanced one? How much of a premium does a slabbed SP-70 have over an SP-69? The PCGS 70 sets have been selling anywhere from 230-300 for the most part with the majority being in the 250-280 range. The labels with the signature are the ones usually getting closest to 300 or over. Most of the NGC ones are selling in the 200-280 range with most being in the 220-250 area. Individual coins sales are all over the map with some basically getting up to the price of the set raw. Its not a hard to find set though so unless you really only want one and not the other I would just get the set whether graded or raw. Quote: eBay prices have very little to with professional and local coin dealers, so don't go there comparing prices to $bay Why not? ebay is a competitor of theirs and if you can get it a lot cheaper on ebay I absolutely would do that. There is a small premium you could attach to picking out the one you want, but anything over 170 max for a raw one I wouldnt even look at it twice. West point didnt drop the ball on these like SF did, finding high quality sets is the norm and very easy to do

70's outnumber 69's by more than 3:1 for this one; by strict rarity, the 69's ought to be worth more than the 70's. Almost a quarter of the total mintage is now in PCGS/NGC pops at 70.
