I'm pretty sure that isn't a coin. It's a token, and probably from Japan. I ran into a whole ton of them at my local coin store in the bulk bins. Found a nifty one that has a dolphin on it though! I got that one. >.>

If it's dual sided then it is defiantly a token...just not sure where from. Japan is possible but I'm doubting it because of the symbols.

Someone will be along shortly that has seen this.

It is in Japanese, "Midori" which means green unless it happened to be a store name or something else.

Wow... I've never translated Japanese before, but I figured it out.

First I had to work out which of the three Japanese scripts was being used (Hiragana), then find the Wikipedia character map, cut-and-paste each of the characters into Babelfish and hit "translate", come back here... only to find gxseries had already translated it for you.

Yup, it says "Green".

Very educational, but I don't think I'll be applying for any jobs at the UN anytime soon.

Like I said, it could just be a store name called "Green". Not suprising is it where you have surnames such as Greens and Browns.

Pachinko?

Ah. Pachinko. Wikipedia even gives the use of tokens a brief mention.

I'm learning a lot from this thread. Thanks, bushe!
