I wasnt going to post this one,but have changed my mind. definitly a hard call..its a TDO 68D and it TOOK ALOT to capture this image with my USB micro. the PUP is hard to catch perhaps Coop can fanagle the image somewhat. In my opinion the variety is a fade from left to right throughout the WE TRUST portion of the coin. I am basing that off the Image provided in the CPG book I have no doubt this coin is the variety but as far as die state or strike quality I have to wonder on. compared to my 1964D TDO this coin is considerably different but the tripling is there. I have been searching for a 40 percent variety for quite some time. this came from a 1968 mint set. Edit: this is a minor tdo I comapared it to my 2 64 tdo's one a proof and one a circulated 64d and it exhibits all the same qualities of the TDO just a minor tdo other than the marks on the 8 and the R it just has light contact marks actually is a pretty nice coin Edited by rupester 02/06/2014 04:29 am

Looks like a minor doubled die, but still a doubled die. Sorry, I don't have the " Cherry Pickers Guide" to compare it with.

Taclough thats pretty cool. My coin in hand with a loupe its obvious but with a camera its hard to catch the image but your coneca post definitly is helpful. So would you agree its a fs101? The Y in my coin shows the tripling as well

Rupester,
Hi, It is hard to tell from yoiur pictures, how is the hair under the R in LIBERTY? CONECA has three DDOs listed for the 1968-D, all ofthem are minor in my book. DDO-001 and DDO-002 are both listed as having "light triple spread on IN GOD WE TRUST. We haven't been able to find DDO-003 yet.
NOTE: None of them so far have been reported as being found in US mint sets yet so yoiu might want to send it into James Wiles ... If strong enough youi might get a new listing if it is not one of the three already.

Taclough, in the picture That Coop clarified when I enlarge that image the E in WE takes on the look of you DDO-1 image wow I am excited!! Not to get ahead of myself and as is mentioned in the CPG a early die state coin would be a good find. The coin in hand under a loupe is a quite different look. I would love to have this coin confirmed and correctly attributed.
