1880-O VAM 48 Hangnail? Help Needed

SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 07/11/2007 4:25 pm The Hangnail VAM is called that because of a gouge from the bottom of the arrow fletches and through the tailfeathers, rather than the claw you're showing. http://vamworld.wikispaces.com/1880-O+VAM-48 If that gouge is showing, immediately check the second 8 in the date for an overdate, characterized by a little "devil's horn" mark sticking up from the top left of the 8. That's the signature of VAM-49, another Hangnail (same reverse), but a major rarity. Report this Post to the Staff
