:)

That would have been a bargain!

If you know somewhere I can pick these up for a quid, let me know!!
I have heard that 'back in the day' it wasn't unusual to find these kind of coins in bargain buckets, but unfortunately, I never see anything worth more than a pound, for a pound!!

No, unfortunately I paid proper values for the coins, just what I believe to be good value

Is the farthing open 2?
The same dies were used for sovereigns.

Sorry Peter, unsure what you mean by the question

Is the farthing open 2?

I paid £12 for the 3 of these... but now I feel like I haven't got um at a good price :(

Hi Peter,

I assume that the open/ closed 2 is different varieties of the coin?
I tried looking around the net for info on this, I found that there is a variety of this coin with a large '42', but couldn't find anything on the open 2?

Where is the best place/ book etc that lists variety of coin?
I have Spink 2014 & obviously use Coins-of-the-uk, but neither of these appear to show all varieties of each coin, is there somewhere that does?

Thanks

The 1807 halfpenny looks polished.

Wish id never posted this topic.... quite depressing :/

but, yes possibly does look polished.

by my estimates, based on grading and spink, I would have said I had about £40 worth of coins here, the 1842 has got to be NVF if not VF, and that could be valued up to £50 alone,

Oh well, I am either delusional... or people having a bad day lol

Peter, would value your honest valuation

Thanks

Mashisback, still not a bad deal. £1 would be an awesome deal but such things does not happen frequently in real life.
Farthings are of pleasant grade. The G3 Halfpenny is polished but, still having nice details. Wait until it tones again :)
Not bad at 12 quid.
