So sometimes I buy coins to resell. I went to the table my LCS had and asked them if they needed anything for the shop. He told me he needed a 2012 silver proof set. he told me he would pay me $150 for one. I go over to the table directly to the right of his table and to my surprise they had 2 2012 silver proof sets. I found the owner and asked how much he wanted for them and he said $93 each. ( ) I only had enough for one so I got the better looking one and walked over to my LCS and sold it for $150. I asked if they wanted another one and he said he did so I went and bought the other one. Then he paid me $150 plus a $3 tip. I then took the money and got a 2013 West point ASE set graded PCGS MS/PR-69 in a double holder. Has anyone else seen 2012 silver proof sets for this low?

Easy money. He is not looking very hard. I don't collect ASE's, so I do to know about the prices.

Quote: Has anyone else seen 2012 silver proof sets for this low? Havent seen 93 in quite a while. One on ebay just went for 129 and with patience you can find them under 150 but a lot do go in the 150-180 range.

a few months ago they were going for $200+
Glad I got one for my personal collection for $80 when the mint was still selling them.

I believe they will eventually settle in the 100-120 range like the 1999 sets have as the initial hype of the quick sell out wears off.

The sets were on the table to the right of his. With money in my pocket, I'm not complaining.

Buy low, sell high.
Hopefully you used the proceeds to buy a coin or 2 and every time you look at it you will remember the story about how you got it for free (with a few smart deals in between)

That is amazing since at most coin shows dealers wonder around right before the place actually opens. Usually they grab anything like that. You did what they normally do so good for you.
