Just picked up this Maris 17-J, 1786 New Jersey copper (large planchet).

Hoping I got the attribution correct as that would make this an R5 coin!

I am at VG details on this one. I promise you this coin looks WAY nicer in hand than in these pics.

Thoughts?

I'd say you are spot on Ben! 17-J. Can you make out any features from the donor coin? This one is often found struck over other Half Cents.
