Bought this a while back at a coin show. Had to talk the guy out of it. Didn't even have it in his display case. I asked if he had one and to my surprise, he said yes. The best time to buy one of these is when you see it, so I pulled the trigger. Thoughts on grade, originality or anything else. Thanks for looking! The reverse is the same color as the obverse. I just take horrible pics.

Detail is a little better than G6 so believe any TPG will give her
VG08 - As you know there is quite a price difference between 06 & 08.

Very nice original looking coin, nice score! Congratulations!

Sweet addition! Tough call but I'll say this one is G-6 and wonderfully original.

Edit: Looking at some graded examples I can how a strong argument for VG-8 could be made.

I've seen similar pieces in VG8 holders and felt they were over-graded. I believe it's an honest G06.

Seeing how the price of this coin has skyrocketed since I bought it, whether it's G-6 or VG-8, I'm still smelling like a rose on this one. I do have it labeled as VG-8 though. I realize that's pushing the outside of the envelope. Probably more like G-7.

I think it has a good shot at VG-8.

The obverse is certainly a full VG8, with the reverse (judging from the pictures) a little bit lower. A net grade of good 6 or VG7 seems reasonable.
Here for comparison, my VG8.

Sorry for the triple post. My internet connection is slow today and that maybe the reason.
Is it possible to erase a post?

There should be a small trash-can icon at the top of each post. Click that, enter your password and you should be able to delete you posts. Do it quickly because I think the option to delete or edit goes away after a few hours.

Thank you GERMANICVS, for the comparison. Nice coin. My quarter is a tick under yours. Is it graded by PCGS?

I'd say it's a solid G-6. Very original!
