I was at my local bank and was talking about errors and stuff and mentioned Star Notes and explained them. He then pulled this out...

He was shocked at how happy I was and looked again and said..."Here I found this one too"...

I want to sell it on ebay...or here, But I am concerned with the numerous stamps on the back. Did it just destroy any potential value of this note? Most 2001 100$ star notes are going for $125-$140 on ebay.

Chances are someone on ebay will pay over face for that $100 bill. Congratulations. You won't be rich, but you'll turn a profit.

It kills me when people do that to bills.

Nice finds.

The reason for so many marks is that many businesses require their cashiers to verify the authenticty of larger bills and then mark them so they know who to "blame" when it turns out to be fake. As for marking bills we have to remember that to most people its ONLY money and besides it makes the search for a clean bill more challenging!

A 365 NM UV light is much more effective for detecting counterfeits.

Congratulations! I would sell the C-note and make a quick $25 bucks or so.
I always wished I had a friend that worked in a bank. They get new bank notes in bundles of 50 or 100 or so. Imagine getting 100 mint condition sequentially numbered $1 star notes? Instant profit.

Well I'll put it in the buy section here to see if anyone wants it before it goes to ebay

I have applied to several banks as I still don't have a job. The bank that I got this at the guys hold stuff for me if they ever find anything like old bills and such.

nice find, but the stamps will definitely take away from it's value.
It is unfortunate but as one memeber said some business require all notes to be marked or stamped once they have been checked, especially higher denominations.
