1955-D It's my first LWC off center and was surprised the seller had it listed as buy now for 9.95+3.00 shipped. Most off center LWC sell for over $50.00 In fact I think there's only 18 LWC listed on ebay right now and the cheapest one is $80 bucks.Just wanted to share For some reason I can't upload a picture of the reverse but here was the listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/14118971937....m1439.l2649Edited by jasper62 02/12/2014 1:16 pm

Not to burst your bubble but off centers don't go anywhere near those prices you are mentioning. Most can be had for less than $10. Here is a list of recently sold off center cents. *edit* I just noticed the one you bought was a LWC... I just noticed all of the LWC do sell for a good bit. I don't really collect them... Are LWC more rare than LMC? Looks like you got a GREAT buy! http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...H_Complete=1

Hey Jayman. No Worries,I know what I'm doing, I've been collecting off centers for the past 2 years and I know what years are the rare one's and what years are not. None dated LMC sell for a couple of dollars. The Dated ones without the zinc showing through the copper sell depending on the date sell between 8 and 15 bucks. The better the condition with a date the higher the $ amount. The years 1999 2000 & 2001 are the most common years for an off center so you should be able to get a Mint State one for 7 14 bucks. If you get a chance look up the history of LWC sales history.Last year I bought a 2008 LMC "Rare date" for 5 bucks off ebay.Turned around the next day re-listed & sold it on buy it now for $140.00 I've turned a few more like that.If you know what your doing you can make some $ and still have a Mint State collection for free.My Bubble is all good Here's the 2008 OC It's been longer than I thought https://goccf.com/t/95563

Quote: Not to burst your bubble but off centers don't go anywhere near those prices you are mentioning. With all respects A coin A car A house A ... anything...... Is worth exactly ........ what anyone will willing to pay for, at "that" moment in time. Averages, .. book values ... lists of last "actual" sales, "real" sales, and ====>Appraisals, won't stand up to 2 people just buying and selling. Case in point, I bought a coin off ebay ... sold it for more than triple what I paid for it. No insult intended ... No insult given.

Domain- If you read my full post you would see I changed my original thoughts...I just don't erase stuff when I edit a post. Something is worth what one person is willing to pay...but good luck selling everything for what you paid for it...value is tender (pun intended)

Just about prices; yes, $80 is a bit high. check ebay SOLD prices to get an idea of what a coin is worth, not the sky high prices people list things for. I have a 1956D Wheat cent off center just as much as yours that I picked up for $30.

May I please add this, In business matters ... In my endeavors, including hobbies ... I like to let situations to be both fun and not too costly. At this moments in time I have bought about 99.9% of my stuff at face. Hard to loose much at that rate. To carry this conversation to the ultimate end, when I die, If my wife takes my Ikes to the bank window, she will get about what I paid for it. A buck. No insults intended. No insults given Please let's be friends. OK?

robbudo Sounds like you got a good deal on that 56D. Sometimes Auctions are weird, I've seen some that were buy it now for lets say 20 bucks stays up for a couple of weeks & never sales. Then it's re listed in a real auction then sales for over 50 bucks. Go figure.lol
