Can somebody help to identify this ancient Vietnam coin ?

Help-On-Ancient-Vietnam-Coin

I received it as "Tri Binh Thanh Bao", but searching it on Allan Barker catalog book it doesn't match to any type reported for Tri Binh Thong #88.
As additional information coins back is without any sign and weight is 1.98 grams.

The design on your coin is very similar to the one shown on this link under 'Annam Privately Minted Coins'. Scroll down to the illustration of 'Tri Thanh Binh Bao'.

Hope this helps!

Correct. It is from a class of "unofficial" (that is, privately-made) lightweight cash coins known as "floaters"; so called because they're so light and thin, they'll float on water. Here's one of several examples on zeno.ru.

Exactly when these coins date from is still up for debate; some cataloguers believe they date from mediaeval times, others as late as the 19th century. It's even possible they were made in both and at several occasions in between, with no clear way to tell the difference for a specific coin.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Dr. Barker does not include this coin in his authoritative "The Historical Cash Coins of Viet Nam".

However, the "Baidu Library" (Baidu is China's major search engine) has an interesting article about the coin.

According to the article, the zhi ping sheng bao (治平圣宝) coin was cast during the "reign" of Xu Shouhui (徐寿辉) who was the Chinese rebel leader of the "Red Turbans" during the Yuan Dynasty.

This coin and a version of a zhi ping yuan bao (治平.宝) coin were cast in order to pay his troops.

I double checked examples you reported and it seems to be a "Tri Binh Thanh Bao" floater cash coin, but with a small difference in the Thanh character that suppose the coin as a new variation not catalogued, and for sure not reported in Barker.

Thanks again
