Can you get lighter images of the entire coin? It would to determine if the blakesley is visible on the opposite side of the clip. There's roughness on the cut which makes me question if it's just PMD that was done a long time ago.

I'll see what I can do. It took me a while to get those as clear as they are.

Could you enlarge the area on the obverse that is below the bust to the rim and the reverse where the rim meets the clip? I think the reverse shows a Blakesley affect.
Wow, I just posted this and you had added the images. LOL

Something that concerns me is the roundness of the die is missing in the areas of the clip. It seems out of round in that area. Does there appear to have tiny scratches in the edge of the clipped area?

What I saw was the rim looks pushed in a little on the reverse at the S you of PLURIBUS UNUM.

What exactly do you want me to take pictures of? I can get closer images with my Zorb. Just need to know what you want.
The only scratches I see are the newer scratches that were on the coin when I bought it. Maybe from a staple or something. Is that what you're asking coop?

On the straight clipped area, are there light scratches horizontally or vertically? No extra images needed. If someone wanted to create one of these, they may rub it on cement or across a file making horizontal lines. Vertical lines may mean the blank was punched. But on a straight clip, these rules may not apply as the straight area could mean the edge of the stock material. Si I thought you could give it a look with this information?

Just got through examining this coin. I detected something about the rim. It was closer and out of round on the rim where the outside of the die should have made it round. Also there were scratches horizontally on the rim. They tried to polish them out, but still visible. Something that concerned me was the strongness of the devices near the supposed clip should be fading. I've determined that this coin was dropped and someone tried to cover it up making it look like an incomplete planchet. Here are my images.

Thank you coop for your input on this coin. I have now been educated and know what to look for on the chance I come across another. You're the Man!
edit to add: Do you think this coin should be disposed of being that it is a "fake" error?

Well it is still a Wheat cent. I would keep it marked as a fake error. I sent it back today along with a DVD in the mail today. Enjoy!

Oh, that's so cool coop! Thank you! I'll definitely make use of the DVD! I'll mark it as a fake error. Little disappointed that it wasn't legit, But it was only 50 cents. You also have more photos to use!
