I like this coin and am tempted to buy it, but I know nothing about hammered coins, any thought on this coin and what you would suggest me to pay maximum?

It's an OK example but clearly worn. The current price is I'd say about right (£100 ish) However if you can pay a bit more (£150) I think you could get better. The star mark is scarcer, so if you are happy with just an example so don't mind a commoner mint mark, again I think you could get a stronger portrait with a bit of patience.

Mine has sadly been cleaned. I think hammered silver always looks better with some dark contrast.

Type collecting is great but buy the best you can afford.
I do like the HC illustrated though.
