I work at a grocery store where there is a coinstar machine that people are always at. I really want to offer people money for the coins but without them knowing how much they really have it's hard to buy them off them. Has anyone else tried to do this with any luck?

Well, that seems like a conflict of interest with the grocery store who employs you. Takes a lot of time to count coins.

What you looking to get Coinstar machines do, indeed, reject silver. just ask to buy the rejected coins off the person...
