It is a German Notgeld piece from Aachen. http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces16193.html

There are different design varieties. Yours would be an F#1.8, unless it has a coin alignment, then it is F#1.9 and maybe worth a little more.

If you don't collect Notgeld I would be interested in it.

Thanks. This is a coin belonging to my girlfriends father. I have a whole cigar box full of foreign coins to go through. He's wanting to know approximate value of all.

They were left to him by his Mother years ago. Unfortunately the box was left in a damp garage. May have to buy some Verdi-care to use on them, just to know what most of them are.

So far Germany and France is what I've found. Strange though. I'm finding only 1920's and 1940's.
