How about a classic silver dollar. How much would you gamble to take it off of their hands obviously sight unseen quick throw it in your pocket in case it is real so as not to throw up a red flag in case it is legit? $1 for silver; gold came in what $1, $2.50, $5, %10, and $20 and even $50 for modern gold Eagles. Would you gamble $50 on an ounce of gold vs holding the bag on a fake? Report this Post to the Staff

ASLAN TVorlon Pillar of the Community United States 1234 Posts	Posted 02/22/2014 9:16 pm The bank is not a coin shop, they go by face value. I talked to a teller who told me she spent a half hour trying to talk some old guy into going to the coin shop with his silver dollars and silver certificates... he took the coins to the shop but sold the bills at face value... then she swapped them out of her drawer with supervisor permission of course for face value.
