Well, I posted a day or so ago that I had Gotten my Very First Box of pennies from the box. Look what I found in the THIRD roll. Yes, it is Beat up I know, BUT, The newest coin in the roll was a 2013 LMC. I didn't think I could find something this old in a Coin Roll. I am NOW HOOKED for good. Back to it.

Gosh my oldest was 1906. I'm so addicted to CRH. I just see another roll and wonder what is in it. The joy of finding something like that, makes me want to go through many more rolls. Lucky you!

You found a IHC in your very first box of cents? I've only gotten one and it took about 6 or 7 boxes to get that one. It kind of makes you wonder how it has stayed in circulation so long...

Yes sir, my first box, third roll in. My wife was looking at me going " What's wrong? , what's the matter? " I guess I was a little excited and startled her. I foresee more boxes of pennies in my future.

Some nice specimens found by the group - it is quite a delight to find something unexpected even when you are looking! For me, the thrill is in the collecting - be it a small find or a grand one. While I have several purchased coins in my collection, I prize the coins I've found in circulation the most; from a roll, in my change, out of the ground....or lying on a bar table. The joy of making discoveries. Sometimes buying a coin is the only realistic way of getting a coin that is in circulation obsolescence (to the highest degree) or at a desirable grade. Buying is pretty easy to do, especially if you have the means. But from a purist's standpoint, I think it might be missing the point of collecting (self declared hypocrite here). Congrats on the Mercury dime, IHCs and V nickel...and whatever else you find that delights you. Happy hunting!!

Nice find! IH's, for me, are far more rare than V nickels. Always a welcome find!

Thanks guys. It's very cool to be searching, especially when you look at a coin and think you might have 'something'. The old heart starts to racing. Like being a kid again. I LOVE IT !
