2 severely defective coins â€" Buffalo Head & 1976 Quarter

The buffalo head is completely slick on the face side, like it was never punched. Also on the slick side it bulges out some and you can press it down, like it is hollow inside, makes a popping noise.

There is also some kind of hole on the back that looks like it was machined.

The quarter almost looks like it was done after minting, strange looking. It is what it is, which I have no clue what it is...

You think the Nickel is also post damage? I mean when I say it is slick on the one side, it is slick as ice.

As far as the nickel is concerned, I used to have one as a kid. It is a squirting nickel. It is hollowed out and a brass cover is soldered on to it. It has a tiny hole in it, So when you hold it under water and press it, it fills with water. Then you point it at somebody and press it and they get squirted. That's what we did in school way back when for fun.

I remember having one of those as well.

Great fun to keep showing my sister who fell for it Every Time.

The squirting flower only fooled her once though.

You can tell that the nickel has been "modified" by the brassy appearance of the flat side. Since a five cent coin is composed of a cupronickel alloy, you will not see color variances to that degree. The quarter is covered by a big glop of glue or epoxy.
Rest in Peace

Very conservative placement of the "Squirt" hole
