Inadvertently started this on my own.

I call it the "cigar box time capsule". But, any box will do.

Over the course of your numismatic travels, whether it be pocket change, coin roll finds, trades, or purchases...place one or several of these treasures in your time capsule....and open a month, 6 months, or a year or two from now. Something caught your eye. Something was "too good of a deal". Something would fit well in a future series to collect.

2 years for the wooden Arthur Feunte wooden box include:

1926 S Lincoln anacs AU50 small white holder with black hologram
2003 P Lincoln MS68RD PCGS (this is a STUNNING cent!!)
1928 S/S/S Standing Liberty quarter
1973 S Ike PR70CAM - don't laugh - graded by SGS (NOT an MS70 IKE...by any means)
1943 Walking Liberty AU55 DDO PCI
1973 IKE MS64 PCGS
1973 D IKE MS64 PCGS
1973 S IKE silver MS67 PCGS
2007 S Jefforson PR69DCAM PCGS
2012 ASE
1915 S Lincoln in Fine
1967 Kennedy 40% unc
1965 Kennedy 40% unc
1972 S Ike silver unc
1973 S Ike silver unc
1974 S Ike silver unc
2011 D Glacier NP MS65 PCGS
1960 Washington PR67 PCGS
1993 Lincoln MS67RD PCGS
2009 Lincoln Professional MS65RD PCGS
2010 S Jefferson PR69DCAM PCGS
1971 D Ike MS64 PCGS
2008 S Jefferson PR69DCAM PCGS
2009 S Jefferson PR69DCAM PCGS

The slabbed coins were purchased because they were extremely cheap or to be used in one of my next sets to collect (several Ike's in the box).

What is the end objective? I think about all collectors have a box or 2 like this.
Odds 'n' ends. Are you burying this?

I too see no purpose in this. Yes I too have several boxes of just Stuff in coins. Would make a nice time capsule if I could find a place that it would be found in say a thousand years. But to just find it myself in a short period of time just doesn't appeal to me. Even now that box is just sitting and sitting anyway. Not a time capsule, just STUFF.

Just stuff. What tickled your fancy at the moment. Purchase now and put away for a rainy day.

I use it for future series that I intend to collect. SUPERB purchases that cannot be turned down (the Price IS Right).
