1909-C Sovereign/Mintage of 16,273. I've always wondered why this coin is so reasonably priced?

Interest is certainly an important factor in value (the old "supply and demand" aspect).
But mintage is a relatively minor factor.
The other factor is how many still exist.

My favorite example is the US 1933 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle.
445,500 were struck.
BUT only one is in private hands AND legal to own.
That one sold for over $7.5 million.
