so how long do the banks hang on to stuff like this sequential bundle of 100? a few months back I picked up 6 boxes of 1979 pennies

I have seen at 2 out of 3 banks that had 2-1973 $1.oo's, but both were well circ....nice find...

Sometimes these get tucked into a matress... upon the estate.. this money is just taken to the bank to be put into the account... lawyers or those in charge of the estate may not concern themselves with any numismatic value and instead of selling privately would just clear up all loose ends quickly.

Occasionally I find bundles of these at the banks too.... sure makes for a good day!

Yeah I was pretty shocked today when I looked at asynpaper to see the "UNC's" going for $5 a piece....

I only hope that if/when I come to sell that I could generate the clinetel and traffic they do! LOL

I saw tht to Agcoin Au...usually only 3.oo for GEms and can even get better deal on right day....Yes I buy them as well-In Dec I said to try for a 1973-1.oo prefix collection- Just one not 100 ....But there are plenty of prefix's though...

Unless these bills are absolutely GEM MINT, spend them....the government loves it when you hold on to old circulated bills....next time you are at your local coin shop, ask how much he would pay for one...

they are crisp fresh gems, other than the top one that has the tellers stamp, we ended up getting 3 more bundles of 100 just like this one at the same bank. so that would be 400 bills in sequence! they had a 5th bundle but said someone else wanted it

depending which way your sequence is, you must have 5113511, or 5113115.
