Just wondering if this is common with American coins? If not whats it worth?

I plastified it ...for scanning purposes only...so it wouldnt move while scanning.

The US uses what is know as "coin alignment" when positioning the dies.

AlCapone: Don't worry about, no one is going to look down on your because you are unfamiliar with U.S. coins (although there maybe some mild teasing). We are all here to learn and I know I've asked my share of questions about Canadian coins that are probably obvious to people who deal with Canadian coins on a daily basis.
