This is a 1971-S that I had found when I was Metal Detecting.

The Mint Mark looks add to me and just wondering if others had any thoughts on it ?

Also the 9 in the date has a little spike coming up from the bottom, any clue what would cause that ?

The upper part of the mint mark looks like it suffered Machine Doubling. I'm thinking the tops of the date show this as well. The tail of the nine looks like it has a contact mark on it making it look like a extra tail, but it is just a normal 9 with a dent on it.
