I am having some real storage issues or lack of it. I have several $5 gold eagles in the velvet ( I think) boxes. Am I correct in assuming these will always be valued at bullion and if so, is there any real reason to keep them in the bulky mint packaging? I can save a lot of space to consolidate them in tubes. Thanks for your input!

Don't remove them from the mint capsules if they are proofs. You can store the packaging elsewhere (but keep it) and leave the coins in their mint capsules. Do not put proofs into tubes.

You can put them in tubes if you want to of course. I would leave them in the capsules though and sit the packaging aside elsewhere. You might have burnished and specially handled collector uncircs there. I don't think standard bullion pieces came in fancy packaging like that.

I doubt bullions come like that since you have to buy them from a distributor. Id leave it as is or at least in the capsule if you wanted to tube them that way

You can get AirTite Cap-Tubes that you put capsules inside. If you use them, you can keep the coins in capsules and still have them stored in tubes.
http://www.air-tites.com/cap-tube-c....UxVQ1NyFaDU You can find the Cap-Tubes in a lot of major online PM vendor websites.
