jprine Pillar of the Community United States 1599 Posts	Posted 03/03/2014 6:12 pm I am having some real storage issues or lack of it. I have several $5 gold eagles in the velvet ( I think) boxes. Am I correct in assuming these will always be valued at bullion and if so, is there any real reason to keep them in the bulky mint packaging? I can save a lot of space to consolidate them in tubes. You can store the packaging elsewhere (but keep it) and leave the coins in their mint capsules. Do not put proofs into tubes. ANA #R3154474 Report this Post to the Staff

I would leave them in the capsules though and sit the packaging aside elsewhere. You might have burnished and specially handled collector uncircs there.
