I somewhat disagree with what HH says. While there are certainly fewer buyers for larger coins, there are fewer of them made. How many buyers do you need to find for your coin. . . just one, right? If you look at the price for the 2 and 5 oz horses, the premium/oz is significantly lower than to buy a 1 oz horse. While the 1 oz coins tend to sell for more per oz down the road (usually), they also cost more up front. I think there's not much risk associated with grabbing a couple of the larger coins. I think you could expect the premium to rise with time. How much? I don't know. However, you can look at how older issues currently sell as some form of gauge.
As a quick example, check out prices on a 2 oz or 5 oz 2008 series 2 mouse. . . then tell me you would rather have a 1 oz than the 2 or 5. Of course they don't all turn out this way, but there are some real winners outthere. I will say, however, once you get into much bigger sizes like 10 oz and kilos, you can expect the premium/oz to be lower down the road. . . but you're going to pay less/oz for them now. I like a little bit of everything, but personally don't have much in the really big stuff (10 oz+).
