Is it worth collecting those big silver Limited mintage coins ?

What do you collect ?

For example let's take the year of the horse 2oz&5oz silver rounds which I really like to get ,do you think in the far future ( 10-20 years from now) those big rounds will go up in value , or they will go down in price once the hype goes away?

Are 2-10oz Kuala, Luna series and other that they're made by the government , with low mintage ( 20.000 and under) are called numismatic?

buy bullion to sell and numismatic to keep.

minimize the premium paid on bullion and remember that larger
size bullion have fewer buyers.

1 oz offers a good trade off of lower premiums against ability to sell.

I somewhat disagree with what HH says. While there are certainly fewer buyers for larger coins, there are fewer of them made. How many buyers do you need to find for your coin. . . just one, right? If you look at the price for the 2 and 5 oz horses, the premium/oz is significantly lower than to buy a 1 oz horse. While the 1 oz coins tend to sell for more per oz down the road (usually), they also cost more up front. I think there's not much risk associated with grabbing a couple of the larger coins. I think you could expect the premium to rise with time. How much? I don't know. However, you can look at how older issues currently sell as some form of gauge.

As a quick example, check out prices on a 2 oz or 5 oz 2008 series 2 mouse. . . then tell me you would rather have a 1 oz than the 2 or 5. Of course they don't all turn out this way, but there are some real winners outthere. I will say, however, once you get into much bigger sizes like 10 oz and kilos, you can expect the premium/oz to be lower down the road. . . but you're going to pay less/oz for them now. I like a little bit of everything, but personally don't have much in the really big stuff (10 oz+).

Lets keep discussion to one thread. I locked your other thread, and this was posted there:

Regarding Perth Mint coins --- If you research the progress of selling prices of the different sizes of the Perth Mint Lunar Series II coins, I think you'll find the most
impressive sale price increase is in the 1oz size. The 2oz Kooks were discontinued, there was no 2oz Koala and those 5oz, 10oz and larger pucks and platters
attract a pretty limited following. If you want to collect the pieces that'll have the best possibility of easy and hopefully most profitable resale to the biggest possible
market, stick with the 1oz coins.
