While going over my Barber dime collection I spotted this 1906-D with what appears to be a die crack on the obverse running across and under the N in 'United' and extending into the ribbon. So far I haven't been able to find any information to indicate this type is a known error. Anyone knows if it is a known die crack for this year on that side of the coin?

That sure looks like a distinct die crack. It's not listed in the Cherrypicker's guide. Die cracks in this series likely won't be listed in coin references, and won't add any value.

Thanks for the reply. I had hoped to find something on it in the Cherrypicker's guide, but yeah, there is no mention of it. In any case, the die crack does make the coin more interesting. I'm just glad that I took a closer look or I would have missed it. :)

I agree. These features definitely add interest to a coin in a collection, and may spark interest in a potential buyer. The die crack just isn't something you can reference to a publication.
